Processional on Westminster Abbey Part 2  (7-10-2008)
Part 2 uses the diapason 8' and Flute 8' on the Zwolle MAnual II and the Principal 8' of the Zwolle Manual I. The Pedal is the 16', 8' and 4' Diapasons of the Zwolle.

Demo: Tuba Monstruo 64'  (7-10-2008)
There are three descending scales on the pedal here.
1. Tuba Monstruo 64' from C 32 Hz to 8 Hz (two octaves)
2. Tuba Profundo 32' is added and the two octaves are repeated.
3. Bombarde 16' is added and the two octaves are repeated
It is pretty clear that this 64' rank is not very musical, at least in the bottom octave!!  Some further tuning and voicing might help. . . we'll see.

Processional on Westminster Abbey Part 1  (7-10-2008)
This recording is essentially the same as the above part 1 but uses a much larger reverb setting.

Processional on Westminster Abbey Part 3  (7-12-2008)
I consider this a reject file but will offer it here for now to demo Part 3. My playing is too slow so I will redo it and place it in the group above. Here the small room reverb is used. The Litomysl 16' Tuba Magna in 16-bit (Add-On Organ) is used for the melody against a few Zwolle Manual I and Casavant Choir stops.

These mp3's were recorded live with microphones in my organ room. The point as usual is not to offer a real performance, but just to give some idea of what this organ sounds like.

The music is "Processional on Westminster Abbey" by Robert Wetzler. The piece consists of eight parts. I thought I would use the different parts to demonstrate the various sounds of my current home organ. I think the large reverb version is just too muddled, though it sounds pretty good with all the celestes in Part 1. I intend to use the small room sound for the rest of the piece.

Since I don't have midi'ed pistons and can't change registrations very quickly, I am recording each part separately. The idea is that when played back-to-back they will fit together into the whole piece.

As to the equipment:
MacPro (Intel) with 6 GB and HW3 (32 bit version)
There are 80 speakers divided up into the following groups:
Four groups of 12 speakers each;
Four groups of 6 speakers each: and
Four groups of 2 speakers each (one pair for Pedal).
All groups are set to the HW3 cycle octaves and ranks, etc.

For the Zwolle instrument I've put the 8' ranks through the groups of 12 speakers, the 4' ranks through the groups of 6 speakers, and the upper ranks through three of the 2 speaker groups. The 16' ranks go to a 2 speaker group with two full range subwoofers.

The St. Georges Casavant is going to a Athlon 4600+ PC using WIN 64-bit OS (HW3 in 32-bit mode.
There are 22 speakers divided thus:
Three groups of 6 speakers each; and
One group of 2 speakers (the pedal output).

The Add-On imported HW1 organ includes many reed ranks (the four Trompetas from the Litomysl, for example) and many celeste ranks. I have also included my special 64' Tuba Monstruo. This organ is going to an Athlon 4200+ PC using WIN 32-bit OS and HW3.
There are 14 speakers divided thus:
One group of 12 speakers; and
One group of 2 speakers (the pedal output).

The reverb consists of the Lexicon 400. The reverb goes to 4 front speakers and four rear speakers.

I shall try to add more parts as the next days go by.
