These mp3's were recorded live with microphones in my organ room. The point as usual is not to offer a real performance, but just to give some idea of what this organ sounds like. The music is "Processional on Westminster Abbey" by Robert Wetzler. The piece consists of eight parts. I thought I would use the different parts to demonstrate the various sounds of my current home organ. I think the large reverb version is just too muddled, though it sounds pretty good with all the celestes in Part 1. I intend to use the small room sound for the rest of the piece. Since I don't have midi'ed pistons and can't change registrations very quickly, I am recording each part separately. The idea is that when played back-to-back they will fit together into the whole piece.
As to the equipment: For the Zwolle instrument I've put the 8' ranks through the groups of 12 speakers, the 4' ranks through the groups of 6 speakers, and the upper ranks through three of the 2 speaker groups. The 16' ranks go to a 2 speaker group with two full range subwoofers.
The St. Georges Casavant is going to a Athlon
4600+ PC using WIN 64-bit OS (HW3 in 32-bit mode.
The Add-On imported HW1 organ includes many reed
ranks (the four Trompetas from the Litomysl, for example) and many
celeste ranks. I have also included my special 64' Tuba Monstruo.
This organ is going to an Athlon 4200+ PC using WIN 32-bit OS and
HW3. The reverb consists of the Lexicon 400. The reverb goes to 4 front speakers and four rear speakers. I shall try to add more parts as the next days go by. |
