Here are some oil paintings I did starting when I was in early high school. I've always liked science fiction and wished that I could illustrate SF stories. These painting are all originally done by others. I've listed the artist's name, if I could find one. I just liked the pictures so much, I went ahead and painted my own copies of them. They used to hang in my junior high school science classroom. They now all hang on my bedroom wall.

Left-clicking on a picture will expand it. My scanned paintings expand quite well. However, the scanned original covers come up with moiré patterns in them. I guess that's from the interaction of the screen pixels and the dots from the scanned magazine covers(?)

(Note: I sign all my art work .037 which is my first name upside down.)

Comments My Paintings Original Covers

Original cover by EMSH titled "Robots Repaired While U Wait."

Original cover by Malcolm Smith for the story  "Beware, The Usurpers."

No original artist is named in the book, but I have been informed that the artist is Richard Powers.

(Thanks for that info, Mark Dillon.)

Story illustrated by Orton.
(I've lost the rest of the Analog Science Fact & Fiction magazine this article came from. I'm not sure of the date.)

Original cover by Mel Hunter titled "Flight Over Mercury."

Original cover by John Schoenherr for the story "Goblin Night, " the best story (my opinion) in a series by Schmitz about the telepathic girl Telzey. My copy is painted on a special 3D material.  Scanning  doesn't capture the 3D effect at all, unfortunately.

Original cover by John Schoenherr for the article "Heavy Planet Design."

This picture was on the cover of a paperback collection of SF stories. I can't find it for now. My 7th graders named 'her' Ipsil Ipsquat.
