Instead of buying one large computer for Hauptwerk organs, I have chosen at this time to use two more modest ones and run two separate custom complementary organs at the same time. The midi output from my Rodgers 900b console goes to each computer. One computer is set up for 24 Great and 24 Positiv stops. The other is set up for 24 Swell and 24 Pedal stops. This gives me a "straight" organ of 96 stops. It would take a VERY large single computer to load such an organ. I feel that this approach works very well for imported custom HW1 to HW2 organs. However, it is necessary to buy two "dongle" HW2 programs. The overall cost is about the same (or a bit less) as it would be for one big computer. The drawback is that "dongled" organs can't be separated out to two computers unless one buys two copies of the HW2 organ. . . too much for me at this time. My 2 computers are: After importing to HW2 and voicing, this organ sounds just great! The actual ranks are from: The ODF files are offered for download in case any one else wishes to try this approach the way I have. The screen shots are from HW1. The HW2 import looks almost identical. However, one should adjust the Y (vertical) screen location for labels DOWN 10 since the HW2 imported labels don't quite line up the same.
