This 3-manual, 20-stop, 16-coupler organ is used as a HW1 supplement to the HW2 1921 WurliTzer theatre organ, Virginia Theatre, Champaign, Illinois, USA. from Milan Digital Audio. The organ as configured uses about 500 MB of memory and thus can run at the same time as the Virginia TO in a 2 GB, WIN32 XP system (running both HW1 & HW2 together). The tremulant has been matched to the Virginia's trems.
The following 12 downloadable stops have been
optimized for the theatre organ. All reverb tails have been removed,
and any delays at the start of notes has been removed to tighten up
the response times: The following 8 stops are not zipped since they come from purchased organ sets. All reverb tails should be removed, and any delays at the start of notes removed to tighten up the response times (using software such as Sound Forge). The Stiehr organ stops also needed retuning:
The Buzard, Opus 3: Holzgedeckt 8, Quintadena
8,
Milan Digital Audio With a knowledge of the ODF for HW1, one can remove any of these stops and replace them with ranks that are available. I use this small organ to add various sounds to the HW2 TO in order to expand it and add variety.

April 10, 2005 - I have just placed on the download page what I call "the Poor Man's Flute Celeste." The reason for the name comes from the fact that I didn't use two out-of-tune flute ranks to get the celeste sound. Instead I used one old, rather bland flute rank that I had sampled from an old module. I had never used it since it wasn't as good a sound as the Hauptwerk samples from our usual commercial organ sets. My first idea was to use Sound Forge's CHORUS effect, but that produced too artificial a sound and was hard to control. Then I hit on using the MULTI-TAP DELAY, set for only one tap. The dry out is the original pipe while the one tap, or wet out, is the celeste pipe. I set the delay to only 3 ms. The feedback was off completely. The Mod rate was about 2 Hz. The Mod depth was about 15%. I left the Mod rate constant so the beats would be stable. When pipes sometimes didn't sound like they were beating correctly, it turned out that by tweaking the depth, the panning, the delay time, or wet out, I could fix the sound. The results are kind of nice, I think. I've recorded "Blessed Assurance" using only this flute celeste so you can give it a listen. The second time through the hymn, I used a 4' coupler. If the sound is right for you, I have placed the FLUTE CELESTE II on the Hauptwerk Zipped Files Page. It is packed as a .rar file and is 10.6 MB in size and has 56 notes for an 8' rank.

I have zipped some of the stops from my Band-Organ for download. I used WinRAR. These stops came from sampling the output from some rather old synths. They are not of the greatest fidelity because of this. They can be heard in many of the Band-Organ tunes which can also be downloaded. The Percussion Sounds download is meant to add percussion sounds to the pedal when using the Hauptwerk organ for recording (not live playing). I have included a text file as part of the download that shows how I set up the extended pedal with percussion. The stops that are named "Synth" are artificial sounds from a couple old synths. The oboe and the vox are looped stops. My testing has shown they survive the zipping and un-zipping without clicks. |

I have added two "blank" organ definition
files for download. These are template .organ files for three manual organs. I use the files when I want to set up a new organ. All of the actual stops are not named with real names. The .wav files are all set to a mute file that acts as a place holder. My idea was to design two large instruments (42 stops and 72 stops) without having to wait many minutes for the real thing to load each time I made adjustments to the screen layout. These templates load fairly quickly and all of the pistons and drawstops and expression pedals work. There is just no sound output. Download the .rar file and read the included MSWORD document for details. The download also includes the .organ files for Hauptwerk and the Mute_Stop folder needed.
I've also just added a five-manual .organ
file,
