--- About Me ---

  • I was born here in Spokane, Washington, USA, and lived my first 26 years here.
  • I graduated from Washington State University, Pullman, WA,  with a BA in Mathematics in 1961.
  • During my years at WSU I played guitar and bass guitar in a campus dance band.
  • I earned a public school teaching certificate at Eastern Washington State University, Cheney, WA, in 1963.
  • I taught 7th and 8th grade science, mathematics, and computers at Keithley Middle School, Parkland (Tacoma), WA, for 35 years.  I retired in 1999.
  • During the early 1980's I wrote and sold a small number of simple computer games for the Radio Shack TRS-80 and Apple II computers.  These games featured animated graphics.  The games started with "Android Nim" for the TRS-80 and Apple II.  My final game was "Klendathu," based on the Robert Heinlein novel, Starship Troopers.  This game was for the Radio Shack Color Computer. Also, during this period, I wrote a number of articles for computer magazines and did some artwork as well.
  • I bought my Rodgers 900b organ from the proceeds of game programming sales.  Programming has also paid for much of the additional musical equipment I have.
  • I graduated with a Master's Degree from City University in 1991.
  • I taught Intro to Computers and C++ Programming at Pierce College, McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, WA, for 10 years, from 1991 - 2001.
  • I moved back to Spokane, WA, in 2001.
  • I am a member of The American Guild of Organists (non-certified)
  • I am now an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Park University, Fairchild, Air Force Base, Spokane, WA.  Park University's home campus is in Parkville, MO, USA.
  • I teach intro to computers, Java/C++/Visual Basic programming, Pre-calculus, and The Calculus.
  • I'm once again enjoying programming simple computer games using Dark BASIC Pro and Dark Game SDK (C++).
